Rebind directly to F13

LOUDMOUTH + Talon

Foot switches are already a known pattern in the Talon community for exactly the reason Loudmouth exists: RSI and hands-off control. Because Talon is scriptable, you bind F13 to toggle the microphone in your own user config rather than through a settings menu.

  1. Open your Talon user directory (Talon → Scripting → Open user directory).
  2. Create a file, e.g. loudmouth.talon, with an action bound to the key.
  3. Add a rule that maps the f13 key context to speech.toggle() (or your existing mic-toggle action).
  4. Save. Talon picks up .talon files automatically — stomp to toggle the mic.
Exact syntax depends on your existing Talon config, especially if you already have a sleep/wake setup — happy to help wire this into yours specifically once you have a pedal in hand.
